What is Cloudflare?
Cloudflare sits between your website and the people who visit it. When someone opens your site, Cloudflare delivers it faster, blocks bad traffic, and gives you tools to manage how the site appears online - including to AI engines.
For EZY, this matters because Cloudflare is one way we can deploy AEO files and improvements directly to your website - no code changes, no plugin, no downtime. It's the simplest way to get full AEO coverage on any website.
When should you use the Cloudflare integration?
Connect Cloudflare if:
- You already use Cloudflare and want the fastest setup path
- Your site is not on WordPress
- You want EZY to deploy AEO files without touching your codebase
- You want real-time AI bot tracking
If you're on WordPress, our WordPress plugin is usually the easier path. Cloudflare is for everyone else.
If your domain isn't on Cloudflare yet
- Sign up at cloudflare.com and verify your email.
- Add your domain in the Cloudflare dashboard.
- Update your nameservers at your domain registrar to point to the ones Cloudflare gives you. This step takes a few minutes to propagate.
- Enable DNS proxying (the orange cloud icon) for your main DNS records so traffic flows through Cloudflare.
What does the Cloudflare integration do?
Three things:
- Deploys the AEO files AI engines need. robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, llms-full.txt, and facts.json - all served from your domain, kept in sync as your site changes.
- Enhances pages automatically. Adds optimized meta descriptions and Schema.org structured data to your pages as they're served. Helps search engines and AI tools understand each page properly. No manual editing required.
- Tracks every AI bot visit. Detects GPTBot (ChatGPT), ClaudeBot, Google-Extended (Gemini), PerplexityBot, and other AI crawlers - broken down by page, country, and time. You see exactly when and how AI tools are reading your content.
It can also generate full FAQ and blog pages styled to match your site, but that's optional.
Connect EZY to your Cloudflare account
Total time approx. 45 seconds. Button clicks approx. 10.
Log in to EZY.ai, go to Integrations → click your domain name → Cloudflare Integration:
If you are already using Cloudflare, EZY will detect your Cloudflare settings:
Click Open Cloudflare to create token link. This opens your Cloudflare account and auto-populates the Cloudflare permissions for you. Make sure you are logged in to Cloudflare:
All permissions should auto-populate. The only setting you need to manually select is under "Account Resources" - click the dropdown and select the domain you want to connect to EZY. Then press the blue Continue to Summary button:
On the next page click Create Token:
Copy the token using the small copy icon:
Go back to the EZY.ai tab and paste your new API token into the form field and press Validate and Connect.
And that's it - you're now connected!
Press Done to save the auto-post settings.
If you do not want EZY to automatically post blogs or FAQs, deselect the options you do not want auto-post.
EZY starts deploying AEO files and tracking AI bot visits immediately.
Is the API token safe?
Yes. Your token is encrypted before storage and only used when EZY runs actions on your site. We check permissions on connection and alert you if the token has more access than needed. Each domain connection is isolated - if you manage multiple sites, none can access another's data.
Key takeaways
- Cloudflare lets EZY automate AEO across any site, WordPress or not, without code changes
- Best for non-WordPress sites or anyone wanting full edge automation
- Setup: add domain to Cloudflare → enable DNS proxy → create custom API token → paste into EZY
- Once connected: EZY deploys files, enhances pages, and tracks AI crawlers automatically
